It was a fun place. The band that was performing was doing classic rock and loved it. Drinks were a little pricey but good. Need more seating. Overall had a good time.

This is a fun place to meet up with friends and hear some great music. This one of my stops every time I’m in Austin. The music always brings folks up to the dance floor. The drink are fair in price and good. Very good staff. Lots of room for a big group.

Came here on a late afternoon on Thursday. I believe the well drinks were about $4, so I sipped on cranberry-vodkas. This place was definitely fairly packed for being around 4pm. I liked how they had a guy playing music and he took requests from the people at the bar. Overall, he played each song pretty well and it made for a great, fun atmosphere. I would definitely come back here, I’m sure it would be even busier on a weekend.

A great GOTO bar!
Hands down the most entertaining doormen on 6th street.
Entertainment from the Bands that Ive heard & the DJ’s the play there…
Bartenders are on it!

The diversity of this bar is top notch in which makes this place a goto….

I’m giving the Chugging Monkey a 5 star review for several reasons. The Monkey is the very first bar in downtown Austin that I have visited. So, it was my virgin dive bar experience in Austin. Second, the singer/guitar player was awesome! Third, my cocktail was delicious and inexpensive!
