24 Diner is a 24-hour all night Austin restaurant. We offer chef-driven comfort food, local organic fare, a full bar & a killer beer/wine list at affordable prices.

24 was inspired by the classic diners of the ’50s. A place for people to come meet, eat, drink and have fun. Only this is Austin — so we left out the standard cookie-cutter diner stuff. No fluorescent lights, chrome or a cheesy refurbished jukebox in the corner. We blended a mid-century modern design with a big helping of Austin eclectic.

Come hungry any time of the day — or night. Good atmosphere. Good people. Good food. Good drink. All in one convenient location at the corner of 6th and Lamar.

The concept, named one of “America’s Top 6 Destination Diners” by Bon Appétit and one of Austin’s best restaurants by Food & Wine, has been featured in Texas Monthly, The Guardian UK, Zagat, CNN/Eatocracy, MSNBC, USA Today, Saveur, Mother Jones and more.

  1. Great food. Hadn’t been here in years… Not sure why. Lots of choices makes it hard to decide. We had 24 hash, veggie hash & side of Oatmeal with chutney. All great. I would NEVER have thought to pair Oatmeal with chutney, but it works. 🙂

On hashes we ordered small & I couldn’t finish mine (teenager did) … Main difference is more potatoes on larger one. Apparently

Their jams taste homemade… Not overly sweet, which I LOVE. More of the actual fruit flavor. Especially loved the peach.

Our waiter, OSCAR, was SUPER attentive & helpful. Ask for him! We will next time!

  2. It has taken nearly six months to try this place. It’s always that busy with a line. Luckily, I was able to get in on a week day mid morning. I ordered the veggie hash, and oh my goodness it was delectable. I have never had a tastier hash bursting with flavor. I will be back!

  3. Attention to detail; DELICIOUS food; fast and friendly service. This is easily one of my favorite spots in Austin. Don’t let the name food you; this is not a standard diner, like Kearbey Lane.

Their chicken and waffles with maple butter is to die for. All of their hashes are incredible, and you haven’t lived until you’ve tasted one of their perfect, crumbly buttermilk biscuits.

This place shines in all the small ways that make a truly great restaurant.

  4. My first time coming here was in 2010 when my brother graduated with his undergrad degree. This is one of his favorite restaurants and it’s open 24 hours, like in the name.

It wasn’t crowded the first time we came and it wasn’t crowded this time. Another major thing I like was it wasn’t cold. Most restaurants I go to have me sleepy before I even order my food.

The first time I went I had the Betsy Veggie. It’s a handcrafted burger made with beets, lentils, flaxseeds and other delicious goodness. I swear I tried to recreate it but no such luck.

Since then I had been feigning for that burger so when we went last night, I was too hype. It tastes just as good as I remember. My waitress was pretty amazing. The waiter the first time I came was very knowledgeable about the burger so I was comfortable ordering it this time.

  5. Late night, and an offering of this sort of menu. Fried chicken and Waffles, so Trendy. I’m in LA after Laker basketball, Or where to avoid the grey Austin DUI patrols. 24 Hour dinner is a good choice. Until Oil pays for the operation of the SATE. RIG, EXXON Mobile, the Bushes and Ted Cruz. Good food 24 hours.
