Mike Norton Instrument Drive feat Darrel Lavigne, Gerry Gibbs & Thrasher People

Houston native Michael Lee Norton was known and beloved by countless musicians, booking European and global tours for top acts out of Austin and Nashville. Mike passed in 2016 and left behind a large collection of guitars to be donated to young musicians in need. We honor Mike´s legacy with an instrument drive and an incredible night of live music.
Mike Norton´s lifelong friend, Steve Haas of Haas Toyota Houston, has partnered with The Houston Jazz Collective, Cannonball Instruments, and Anthropos Arts to donate 20 guitars/amps and 20 brand new Cannonball horns to student musicians in need within Austin. Students from Austin and Manor ISD, KIPP and IDEA schools, and partner nonprofits Austin Soundwaves, Kids In a New Groove, and Beyond the Grade will be presented with their instruments during the instrument drive at Antone´s.
The celebration continues in the evening with performances by a who´s who of Mike´s musical friends and colleagues:
