It’s that time of year again. Are you using best practices in your bookkeeping routine? AMF and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts present a night of advice on record keeping for artists.
The first part of the evening will be a discussion with local artist, Kit Holmes, who will answer questions about her bookkeeping method and let us in on how she keeps everything in perfect order. CPA Rex Schuller will lead the interview with Kit and they’ll discuss tips and suggestions for an efficient bookkeeping routine.
The second part of the evening will be specific to tax filings. Rex will cover deductions, exemptions and IRS filings. He’ll also talk about sales tax and its impact on merchandise sales, internet sales, downloads and more.
Austin, Texas based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and award-winning songwriter Kit Holmes has spent a lifetime working in music. She’s performed, composed, arranged, produced and engineered for solo artists, bands, festivals, small businesses, trade associations, churches and theater groups across the country.
Robert “Rex” Schuller – the “Well-Balanced” Arts Accountant – is the only stilt-walking, fire-spinning lounge singer who’s also a CPA and a Certified Internal Auditor. He helps artists, performers, and writers hone their business skills & max out their success by using both his artistic right-brain and analytical left-brain. He currently serves as Incentive Program Manager for the Texas Film Commission.
