Sun Screens: Genre Film

Event Details

Sun Screens is a series of educational programming for young film fans to learn about the movie industry and to celebrate the best of film (past and present). In this session for ages 15-18, we’ll explore “genre” films.

Originally meant to describe low budget exploitation movies, the term “genre” has taken on a much wider definition in recent years. This session will explore horror, anime, exploitation and other sub-genres with the Terror Tuesday and Weird Wednesday programmers. We’ll also take a look behind the scenes of Austin’s own genre film festival – Fantastic Fest.
