  1. The Alamo has come a long way the past few years, and I feel that the menu has greatly improved. I love going to any location.

  2. We viewed Split here tonight and it was a perfectly pleasant movie going experience. I had their Grasshopper milkshake while my boyfriend opted for their Irish Creme shake and both were delicious. I also had the chips and salsa and my boyfriend had their chicken tenders. He stated they were a bit tough but had great flavor. Service was awesome. We got out around 8:15 and it’s not the safest feeling street in the world coming out so be warned. You’re surrounded by bars so feel free to duck in and duck the pushy homeless.

  3. This was certainly a treat! I have been a big fan of Alamo Drafthouse since I started going over 10 years ago in San Antonio. Since then, I’ve moved to places where the Drafthouse opened up (Denver and San Francisco), but I’ve never made it to the original theater…until now! We went Saturday night to see Split and the place was packed! The experience was exactly as expected. The preshow was amazingly funny (ALWAYS GET THERE 30 MIN EARLY TO CATCH THE PRESHOW), the food was on point, and the service was decent. I only give 4 stars because parking can be a pain and the seats are super small!

  4. Dang, I love this place. Being major movie nerds we decided to catch a movie in the much raved about Alamo on a drizzly Austin day this weekend. It’s very similar to SunRay Cinemas here in Jax but a bigger, even radder version. We bought tickets online not realizing that “row 3” is actually the very front row, we immediately realized our neck crippling mistake upon entering the theatre but the snack maid navigated us to the box office where we were easily able to swap them.

We settled in, the sweet snack maid patiently explained how to navigate the ordering cards- can i just mention how Austin is the most gracious, hospitable city ever? Hubs ordered a margarita whilst I enjoyed a Wise Man which were both delicious. We seamlessly used the cards to order a second round & just really enjoyed our entire Alamo experience. BRAVO!

  5. What iPhone has done to phone interactive experience, Alamo has done to movie watching experience. They are amongst the pioneer in setting up the standards, refining parameters and redefining the industry.
Specially all of its interactive, special screenings are worth the experience.
I have been to its sing along, quote along and similar types of special screenings. This Christmas we decided to check out the ‘Elf’ party. The movie is a classic so I don’t need to talk more about it, but the way Alamo made it so much of fun was with props, pre movie loud burp competition (induced by eating spaghetti with maple syrup and drinking Coke), using balloons during snow fighting scenes , jingling bells when Santa was on screen…Its definitely a place worth experiencing if one wants to have a twisted and fun filled movie watching.
