  1. I’ve done about 20 food tours over the past eight years, and this was definitely one of the better ones. I went with a couple of friends of mine who had recently moved to Austin, and we all thought the food was great, but in particular the barbecue joints (Kerlin BBQ for brisket/cheese kolaches, and La Barbecue for a nice array of barbecue and avoiding a long wait that would have been inevitable as off-the-street customers). I was thoroughly stuffed by the end of the tour.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Austin food scene, and made good recommendations for establishments that were not on the tour that we later tried out. He seemed so authentically Texan that I was thoroughly surprised when he said he was from Michigan!

I would definitely do a food tour with this company again.

  2. This was our second experience with Austin Eats. Eric was an awesome tour guide. The pubs and grub were all delicious and the insider information we got about Austin was on point.

  3. If you’re questioning whether this would be a fun thing to do or if it’s a good value… DON’T! It’s A BLAST and a SUPER DEAL for all you get to see and eat! Excellent food + drinks + a knowledgable guild = a great time. DO IT!

  4. My husband and I travel frequently to Austin for a nearby get-a-way from Dallas and decided to do a food tour so that we could find different places to go. This was not what we expected. Eric, our tour guide, was the most knowledgeable and fun guy that you would ever want. We had so much fun with the Pub and Grub tour that we are planning our next trip. Way to go Austin Eats!

  5. We did this tour on a Saturday, from 11 to 2:30 ish. There were 3 of us and about 10 other people; some local, some not! The tour was meeting in a downtown area and we used a bus to go to the other places; the tour ending in the same location it started from.

We went to 2 food trucks, one micro-brewery, two bars and restaurants. We had great BBW, spicy wings, Detroit style pizza (didn’t know that was a thing). Great beer was had at 3 of the places. All throughout, Eric shared a lot of info about other dining or sightseeing options all around Austin. He was very enthusiastic and looked after the whole group.

I did quite a few food tours, all over the world, and I highly recommend this one. One thing I can say for sure, you won’t leave hungry (or thirsty; let’s be clear): Bring your appetites (I know their advertising says something similarly they’re NOT kidding!!!)

  6. Hands down BEST food tour I’ve been on…ever. We did the food truck tour.

Entertaining tour guide (I really wish I remembered his name..dark curly hair, entertaining, hilarious).

The variety of cuisines we tasted (tacos, BBQ, Italian, Asian fusion, bakery), the tour logistics and management, food/area education, and overall entertainment was top notch.

We almost booked the brunch, BBQ, and beer tour, but glad we did the food truck tour bc of the variety.

And trust me, it’s filling. Not in a bad way though, because there was so much variety and different flavors.

CRAFT BEER INCLUDED!! A definite plus!

  7. We LOVE the foodie scene in Austin. So when I found this tour, 5 places for a great price, I thought we should give it a try. FANTASTIC! Jeff was a great tour guide. Friendly, informative, and personable.

We did the Brunch, Brewery, & BBQ tour.

Cuvee Coffee was good. Great Black & Blue nitro coffee, and cappuccinos.

Pueblo Viejo had tasty vegetarian tacos.

Hightower had a nice bloody mary bar and mimosas. The chicken and waffles was a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. The peanut butter brussel sprouts (yes it sounds disgusting) was a yummy highlight.

Freedmans was a cool scene, with tasty food. Nice twists on BBQ and slaw.

Zilker Brewery was a nice relaxed atmosphere with tasty beers.

Great tour for locals and tourists alike. All places I’ve been meaning to go and finally got a chance for one AMAZING price. Can’t beat the value of this tour. Book now! You will leave full of food and beer.
