Cuvee, a 6th Street Coffee Bar and Café serving traditional espresso beverages and pour over coffee, thirteen taps–ten dedicated to craft beer, two provided for select wine and one reserved for Black & Blue, Cuvée’s nitrogenated cold craft coffee. Not just cold brew coffee, Black & Blue is nitrogenated coffee, served cold on tap–a step beyond conventional cold brew coffee. Pastries from Texas French Bread, stroopwafels from The Stroop Club, and local Tacodeli Tacos all add to the experience.

Founded in 1998, Cuvée Coffee had a humble beginning as an exploratory hobby in a Dallas warehouse. Mentored by his uncle, owner Mike McKim found enjoyment in the roasting process and quickly realized that his product was in great demand. Soon, Cuvée Coffee was being credited as the pioneer of specialty coffee in Texas. Today, Cuvée Coffee is a craft coffee company located in Austin, Texas that strives for innovation in its coffee roastery, cold coffee brewery, training facility and retail location.

  1. VERY GOOD Pour Over. Well made in a laid back setting

  2. I love cuvee coffee roasters and you can find their coffee at many cafes around town. I am especially in love with their ntiro Black & Blue coffee, which just doesn’t taste as good from a can, and is harder to find on tap. I recently discovered that Black & Blue on tap is unpredictable, which can be the result of many reasons someone was explaining. However, the place were it is always creamy, frothy, and nutty delicious is at Cuvee Coffee Bar. Yes, it is a definite trendy hipster hangout spot. The interior a marriage or clash of metal meets wood. The bar is located front and center with seating all around. The front side of the bar is for daytime caffeine addicts, and the backside boozy taps by night. They have a small pastry selection to chew on. I love that they partner with Blackbird Bakery for gluten free pastries. For coffee lovers they have espressos, pour overs, cold brew, and nitro. On the other side, they have draft beers and wine on tap.

It seems like everyone is up in arms about their lack of Wi-Fi. But, most people nowadays seem to have hot spots on their cell phones. Austin is full of laptop friendly options, so not sure what all the fuss is about. If I am out with friends, I am not concerned about my WI-FI availability.

  3. Cuvée is one of the best roasters in town and their espresso with steamed milk is on point. You can buy their beans and enjoy those at home too…but I’ve always found my cortado / cappuccino / latte to be especially good when I order at their coffee bar.

For a unique cold coffee, try their nitro version on tap. I personally don’t crave it but it’s a popular one with the locals…and more and more beyond Austin.

Everybody hatin’ because they don’t provide wifi but that’s not a reason to dock stars on a review if they’ve made their intentions clear (which they do). Come here with a friend or to read a book. It’s a great space with lovely people.

    Also, purse hooks.
