  1. Me and my buds love Sleazy Tiger. I like their boards and their sausages. The beer selection is off the hook and it always smells like fresh bread. I think the outdoor area could use a bit of a spruce up and that one hot bartender definitely needs to give me his number now that I’m single. But seriously, the outdoor area is so cool! Why not invest in it? More lights, better tents or decor. I don’t know. I love Sleazy either way.

  2. A few weeks ago I was in Austin, and as the foodie I am, I decided to Yelp the top restaurants in the area.

Easy Tiger, words can not describe my amusement in the pastrami sandwich! I’m originally from New York City, so I know my pastrami! The sand which itself was heaven in my mouth. Mouth watering delicious!

As a starter, I ordered the pretzel with the side of butter. Oh lord, the butter was like the texture of yogurt. Couldn’t let that butter go, so I asked to take some home.

My overall experience was beyond belief. Great customer service, friendly, and very clean. Thank you!

  3. Coworkers have been hyping this place up, and it definitely hit my expectations! A LOT of seating options if you decide to dine in. Want carbs to go? You’ll have no problem ordering all the baked goods for killer gains right when you walk in.

Got the Pain au Choclat (Chocolate Croissant), Pretzel with Beer Cheese, Smoked Turkey Breast Sandwich, and Knackwurst Sausage. Everything was frickin’ delicious, AND fairly priced in my opinion.

If I were to come back for anything though, it would be for the pastries and pretzels. But will have to try out more stuff on the menu, since there are basically unlimited options.

Oh…and if you want to get a quick cardio-sesh in before you destroy all kinds of food, there’s a Ping-Pong table where the outdoor seating is. Could spend 2-3 hours there, easy.

  4. What makes Easy Tiger so special? Is it that they serve food so late? Is it that they are located on a crowded street, but you wouldn’t be able to tell on their patio? Is it the German food, that isn’t even my thing? Is it the wall of beer they serve? Idk, but they have a secret sauce that makes the place incredible.

The bakery/restaurant has an undeniable European charm that is unlike any other place in Austin. They are hip without Edison bulbs or succulents on the tables, they are just cool. Really cool. There is a patio with ping pong (an odd choice for being beside Waller Creek) but it keeps the mood light and fun. They also have a stage that can quickly transform the restaurant into a venue once you remove the family style picnic tables.

The food is German food, you got your pretzels, your brats, and your potatoes. It’s not really my thing, but the hearty meals lend themselves well to the amount of beer they have. They have one of the most extensive beer lists on 6th St. They have ones that they keep on tap all the time, i.e. Live Oak Hef, and some rotating seasonal to keep things funky fresh.

It’s a great stop and a must on anyones list who are just visiting our city!

  5. This spots so chill. Beers, beer cheese and pretzels.
Great back yard beer garden area. There is a ton of seating. It’s funny, in San Francisco we have a couple beer gardens like this. Here in Austin it’s a common thing. This place is it. Great beer selection, clean bathrooms, really nice people and lots of bread.

  6. I wish I could put this place in my suitcase and bring it back to NYC with me.

I was here for a private event so I can’t speak to what the situation is during normal business hours, but there is an insane outdoor setup with ping pong, picnic tables, cool lighting, and it’s right next to a river/creek/some type of flowing body of water which people go nuts for.

They have a good selection of beers and I love the fact that there’s a bakery right upstairs– such a charming touch!

  7. Easy Tiger is a German beer garden on 6th. Even though it doesn’t sound German, it definitely is. Kind of reminds me of Bangers on Rainey Street. The menu consists of mostly sausage and they are also known for their soft pretzels. We shared a pretzel with beer cheese and I had a brat on a pretzel bun. Solid all around! They also have a large beer/cocktail list. Not only German beer but a good variety i.e. craft beer, local beer, other international selections, etc.

There is an indoor area but we stayed out on the large patio which has picnic table style seating. There are also two ping pong tables outside. The patio overlooks a little river so it really reminded me of the River Walk in Austin. Definitely not as spectacular as San Antonio but still pretty cool.
