  1. Pelon’s went out of their way to accommodate our large party even when they had a ton of reservations. The drinks are yummy, the staff friendly and helpful and delicious food! I could not thank them enough for a great experience.

  2. I haven’t eaten in the main dining room other than the queso, but the bar tender in the little “house” to the side of the restaurant is always very attentive and the drinks are tasty. Thanks Matt!

  3. Solid super hill good food. Saw some reviews and I was a bit hesitant. As soon as you walk in great music super chill vibes. The service was quick and courteous. I def would love to come back when I am in town and it’s a true reflection of Austin.

  4. We really enjoyed our lunch. Service was great, the food was amazing and the salas’s and chips were the best, they must be homemade! Overall it was a 5 star and we will be going back in the future!!!

  5. So let me start off why the 5 star rating.

I was sitting on the patio by myself and no one came to get my drink order for about 15 or 20 mins. Which is fine they looked understaffed and were busy no biggie. But what made up for it were several things the manager i think he was the manager realized this and quickly got my drink order and i asked about 2 options i was considering and he talked very briefly about them. I made my choice and he made it a point to keep checking on me and then he assigned a waitress to me. The food was great!! The al pastor tacos marinated and served with pineaple pico was amazing.

So if your in the area or even if your not try pelons and be understanding if you have to wait for a little for your server its worth the wait!!

  6. A group of my friends and I came here for a friend’s birthday. Not a lot of us are from around Austin, but to our luck, our hotel was right next to this place! The design of this place is so cute. Fortunately, we came at a late time too so there no line or crowds.

We split a liter of margarita and although very sweet, got the three of us tipsy (and we drink pretty regularly). We also ordered their Famous Pelons Queso which was no surprise as to why they claim it to be famous. We ate it quicker than we could breathe. I don’t recall if the queso had a kick to it due to the green chiles, but I do remember wanting more.

Their food was a bit average for me, I ordered the cheese enchiladas. But everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food. We were all full before finishing our plates so the portions are very generous.

Would love to visit this place again when I’m back in town!

  7. Austin is certainly a good city of you like Tex-Mex, and Pelon’s does not disappoint.

You start with chips and complimentary chips & salsa, and the green salsa is excellent. I also was brought a huge glass of Coke.

About 5 minutes later, I was served the lunch combo (see picture). It was better than par for the course.

Great little place with a very cozy and comfy atmosphere. A must try!
