  1. Such a fun spot!!! With plenty to choose from along 6th Street, we’re SO glad we wandered in here. The vibe was pumping with the whole place singing along. The band has great energy. They take requests, but (understandably) prioritize those accompanying cash. Played a few fight songs of rival Texas schools, and everything from classic power ballads to newer R&B. Attentive, friendly servers. Stay for the Jell-O shots in a giant mouth syringe, which come out around 11pm. You’ll have an awesome time at Pete’s!!

  2. If you have ever wanted to do Karaoke but you’re too shy/embarrassed/whatever… this place you get to just SING LOUD with the entire audience and everyone is making a fool of themselves at the same time with you! Sadly I don’t live in Austin… but seriously, check this place out if you get the chance! You can’t go there and not have a great time!

  3. SO MUCH FUN! Went here on a wednesday, didn’t know what to really expect on a “down day” because who ever really goes out on a Wednesday. Well needless to say, this is the place to be. Loved it so much even considered having these guys flown out for a private event. They are all extremely talented. Oh one thing, make sure to tip well!

  4. What a fun night!
Would likely be even more fun with a larger group, me & hubs felt very comfortable. No pressure to buy drinks. Waitress was around enough. Yelp mentioned they serve food, but there was none when we were there (FYI). Don’t miss the Yelp check in discount for cover, although cover totally worth it!

  5. SO FUN!!!! They will most likely NOT play the song you request unless you tip them. Makes sense when its a full house. They are funny and talented and the drinks are great. If you’ve never been to a piano bar I HIGHLY recommend! It’s worth the experience for the night.

  6. I’ve been to Pete’s during both of my visits to Austin and both times have been so much fun! Be sure to check in on Yelp to get an entry fee discount. All of the employees in here are friendly and the pianists have never disappointed. In my most recent visit, we requested Despacito and the pianists had one of the bartenders come on stage to rap the Spanish portion. I would definitely say that this is a must-visit for any Austin trip since dueling piano bars are already a rare specialty as it is.

  7. I have been to two other Dueling Piano establishments and this was by far the most entertaining. The pianists are so well trained. They are able to play different instruments and they really want you to have a good time. They make it very interactive.

We arrived around 9pm on a Sunday night. We were able to snag a table. I think it got busy around 10-12pm. There are plenty of tables in the front and theres balcony seatings. I can see this place being packed on a Saturday night.

Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting and don’t like the craziness of the rest of 6th.

  8. What a great place to spend the evening. You can book seats ahead of time, or just show up a little early to nab a table. The waitresses are really nice and make some good recommendations for drinks – they have a full bar so you can order a basic drink or try one of their unique cocktails. Note – the fishbowls are HUGE. I decided to get a gummy bear shot which comes garnished with a gummy worm which was pretty good, albeit very sweet. The fiancee tried a pickle shot, which sounds like it would be really nasty, but was surprisingly good (his words anyway). The pickle juice isn’t real pickle juice – it’s an artificial kind that is slightly sweet.

Now on to the actual show itself – the pianists are very entertaining, cracking just the right amount of jokes and doing a good job with getting the audience engaged. You can request songs that you’d like to hear, and I was taken aback that there were no songs that stumped the players – they were able to play a whole range of genres, going up to Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time.”

Really fun setting for a group or even a couple to come to – you’ll definitely have a very entertaining night!

  9. Awesome time, even on a slow night. Definitely worth a visit if vacationing or in the area. Bring cash!

These guys (they should get a girl or two up there) are absolutely friggen amazingly talented. They can play anything without even thinking about it. They are funny and all really good at getting people to have a good time.

The bar is regular. They serve drunks drinks. Have some. Have lots.

  10. Finally got around to bringing Shana here for her birthday weekend. We got there at 7 pm, stayed until after 1 am. It was a blast, due to a cancellation we got right up front.

Shana got called on stage for her birthday and we met some people from California and a group of teachers. The crowd was fully into it and Shana got into it big time, enough to hurt her legs the next day.

The highlight of the night had to be The Devil Went Down to Georgia with all four singers. One even playing the fiddle. People went nuts!

  11. Was visiting Austin with an old friend, and we thought we’d stop in here on a Saturday night. It was soooo fun! We met amazing people and had a blast. The music was awesome, the drinks were good, and it definitely was the highlight of the trip for me.

Tried to find the same crowd on Sunday, but that didn’t happen… (turns out, people don’t party on Sunday, even in Austin…)

If you have never been to a dueling piano bar, you really need to go to this one. You’ll find yourself singing, yelling, dancing. You need it =)

Would relive this evening over and over if I could.

  12. So cool and so unique! Love this place and need to bring it to sf or something. Came here before dinner around 9:30 and it was already packed. There were a few bachelorette parties going on taking all the seats so they probably reserved them. It’s $12 a person to get in and not knowing what this place was like, I thought damn. After tho, so worth it! I was here for an hour before going to dinner and they stamp you for re entry. There are bleachers in the back where you can see everything. It’s a fun concept to sing those glee songs but it really depends on the players who make it awesome. I forget their names but they reminded me of Collin and Ryan from Whose Line is it Anyway. You can request songs and I’m not sure if it’s by tip or you pay. They sell legit Jell-O shots- jello in an actual shot haha. Fun times for the night and you can wander 6th street after. This was probably my most favorite place in Austin.

  13. I had an awesome experience here last weekend as part of a Bachelorette Party. In fact, there were a lot of Bachelorette Parties there that night – it is a fantastic place to have one! Although we were up in the bleachers and did not have a table, (as apparently they book up early!) it was still a total riot. The bleachers were actually fantastic, as we had a great unobstructed view of all the fun going on below.

When I got there, I was the first of my party to arrive. The guys at the door were more than comprehensive on explaining to me the reservation and table situations, (everything was booked) and where to sit was available, how everything worked, and when the show started. It was really nice and helpful that they were so informative.

The four guys who traded off playing the piano were energetic, fun, and hilarious – they really got the crowd going and did different things like calling people on stage, changing lyrics to songs in a variety of different ways – and were just awesome with knowing every song, and playing/singing them well. The only two things I would have liked to see change were 1) The college fight song thing went on way too long – the amount of money spent on who’s song would play was obscene, ($200+!!!) and 2) Up in the bleachers, there weren’t any song request forms – we had to ask for them, it would be nice to have some up there somehow that are easily accessible for people.

Our waitress up in the bleachers was Shelby and she too, was awesome. Nice, fun, learned our names and kept our tabs straight. She checked on us constantly and was easy to find when we all wanted to close out. The bar was cranking out fantastic drinks as well – their drinks weren’t watered down and tasteless but well blended and full of alcohol.

This is a great, rowdy, crazy bar that is tons of fun. It was really nice to have an electric atmosphere at a bar – a bar with something to do and a big show going on that was easy to participate in. I’m giving ecstatic stars here for a fantastic place. I’ll be back at some point!

  14. Pete,s is the sort of place i take my visiting friends to if they want to experience a wild night out in austin.
I love piano bars and usually go to the more quite sit around the piano type were the lone pianist plays your favourite ballard as you and the quests sing along
,Pete,s however is differant very loud and hot always packed to the walls and the two musicians if you are lucky play your request. thats why its called dueling pianos, you request a tune offer up your cash and then the two banter around a bit and try to get other patrons to pay more than you did not to play your request real fun and a very special place for a party night out .
drinks reasonable priced service is satisfactory but there is a cover charge the whole experiance unforgetable .
not for the easily offended as it get later in the evening the songs .jokes and general conversation get more risque dont take grandma 🙂
