We stopped in here around 11pm on a Friday night to listen to some music and have a quick drink with my brother and sister-in-law. There was no cover charge.

It’s not a very big place, but the bartender was friendly and the music sounded better that what we had heard from the other bars we had walked by. They have a dance floor downstairs in front of the stage, and some stools and bench seats upstairs with a few big barrels for tables.

The place was fairly clean for a bar in a college part of the city, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy the music. We stayed for about 45 minutes before heading out to our next spot. Seems like a pretty chill place to have drinks and hear some country music if your looking for one. Definitely not the cheapest drinks on the block though.

This is exactly the country-style bar that 6th needed. Live music, good bartenders, and a great atmosphere. Solid drink prices and a good crowd. I’ll be back very soon.

We were invited to perform on the Red Gorilla Music Festival stage at the San Jac Saloon for #SXSW. From the moment we were met by security at the door we knew this venue was going to be a good one. They were more than accommodating. The reason I’m writing this review is to highlight one experience in particular. We performed at the venue twice over the course of one week. After having a not-so-great experience with my service dog at another place, we were nervous to bring her with us to the venue. We called in advance and spoke with the owner Kimberly. She was amazing!!!!!! She assured us that not only could we bring her, but that they would make a special space just for her and talk to the sound guy about adjusting a few things to make it more bearable for the dog.

THIS PLACE IS THE DEFINITION OF DOG FRIENDLY!!!!!

The entire staff was just amazing. They were all so gracious and complimentary of how the dog looked and behaved. They asked if we could all take a group photo before we left and so we did! It was so great I teared up a bit. Austin had many ups and downs but this was by far one of the best experiences we had. As ambassadors for the city of Austin, San Jac Saloon stands at the forefront of customer service.
